Monarch Meadows, Adams County's newest nursing home facility, has a new Administrator. Greg Stout, of Winchester, took the reins at the Seaman-based facility in early October and began putting his own particular brand of health care to work.

Senior Center spreading Christmas cheer

Staff, volunteers, and board members at the Adams County's Senior Citizens Center are working to spread Christmas cheer by distributing baby dolls to area nursing home facilities. “If people could see how the Alzheimer's patients in our local nursing homes interact with these dolls, they would be surprised,” says Mary Stout, Executive Director of the Senior Center.

Peebles man arrested in connection with womana s disappearance

Law enforcement officers searching for a missing elderly woman last week discovered alleged human remains on a rural property in the western part of Pike county. Bernice Hayslip, age 77, of Adams County disappeared in August of 2016.

Humane Society hosting Ugly Christmas Sweater contest Dec. 9

The Christmas holiday is near and the Humane Society of Adams County is seeking the community's help to raise funds to continue their mission of rescuing animals in Adams County. As a fundraiser, the Humane Society will be hosting an Ugly Sweater Party along with a holiday feast at the Olde Wayside Inn in West Union on Dec. 9 from 6-8 p.m. The entry fee is $20 per person.

Operation Christmas Child collects 1,867 boxes

From left, Judy Young, Linda Ralston, Angella Horvath, and Marjorie Swearingen after the last shoe box was loaded and ready for shipment. A total of 1,867 shoe boxes were filled and donated by churches and individuals from Adams County as Operation Christmas Child has ended another very successful year.

Edward Lykins Jr

Edward “Sonny” Lykins, Jr., 75 years, of Peebles, passed away on Sunday, December 3, 2017, at his residence. Sonny was born in Peebles, Ohio, on September 22, 1943, the son of the late Edward Lykins, Sr., and Audrey McFarland Lykins.
