Eleven Adams County students traveled to Columbus on Wednesday, Jan. 27 to be recognized by members of Ohio Senate for their award winning essays on the dangers of opiates. The essay contest, promoted by the Adams County Sheriff’s office, asked students to discuss issues surrounding the pervasive drug problem in Ohio.

Winter storm causes car accidents

An Adams County woman and two children escaped serious injury in an automobile accident during last week’s winter storm. First responders were called to the scene of the accident on Corboy Road, near Route 136 at approximately 1:28 p.m. on Friday, Jan.22.

Property destroyed by runaway car

An Adams County woman has come under investigation after she passed out while driving a borrowed car in West Union on Wednesday, Jan. 27. According to West Union Police Chief Roy Stricklett, Grooms was traveling west on Walnut Street when the 2004 Dodge Stratus she was operating careened off the roadway and crashed into the porch of a two-story brick house.

Teens injured in accident
