Sister Irene Thompson to celebrate 104 years

Next month marks a special milestone for a local resident. Irene Thompson, known as Sister Thompson to the members of the Holiness Mission Church, will celebrate her 104th birthday on Dec. 13. During her past four birthdays, Irene has kept all of the birthday cards sent and has several commendations from government officials.

Brothers bag Adams County top bucks

The McCoy brothers, Chad and Lear, who both work at the family lumber business in Peebles, bagged two of Adams County’s top Boone and Crockett bucks this season and did it by careful scouting and monitoring of trail cameras to time the buck’s movements.

Biglerville woman sentenced for injuring child

A Biglerville woman convicted of endangering the welfare of a child will spend three months in Adams County Prison beginning Dec. 16. Mandy Hertzler, 25, was sentenced Thursday in Adams County Court of Common Pleas for injuring her 4-year-old daughter.
